Hello. I am going to taking Yasmin next month to control horrible painful cramps I have had for he past few years. I would like to hear some positive input on this bcp, as i feel that most people post negatives. I did try it for 2 months and had very sore breasts, but short periods.... now i am going back on it, as i need to give it at least 3 months
I fyou have had good experiences with Yasmin, please comment.
Thanks!
My experience is very positive at this point.
I have been on them a month and besides a light headache the first little bit it has really helped.
I feel better already, my blood pressure went down a little, AF showed yesterday and it is much lighter and I'm not as achy either.
I have had cramps though for the last 3 weeks and thought I might be preg but not sure if it is b/c I started taking it in the middle of my cycle and that messed everything up.
Anyway, so far, so good. My doc did say it would take 3 months for the full effect to kick in.
They are the best BCP I have taken but man they're expensive!
I would have to say my experience on Yasmin is mostly good. After starting it, I was able to loose about 25lbs or so in about a year. My acne calmed down as well. And the best part was my periods were shorter and less crampy. The bad things was I started getting horrible heartburn and migraines. The heartburn may have been stress related as I was going through major issues w/ my roommate. I moved out at the same time I switched from Yasmin to something else. I've been on Yasmin again for about 2 months and the only thing I have bad now is the headaches.

Can't wait to start WW again and loose the other 15lbs I gained with the last pregnancy and the 30lbs I still needed to lose with the first one.

I am glad to hear there are a few of you out there. I do like the fact it had a diuretic. I am leery about any BC because DEpo was my night mare. I do alot of research before going on anything. I am always scared of the weight gain, as I have had an ED in the past, and it is still an issue. I was told that Yasmin shouldn't make you gain weight. I am very aware of any weight gain, and very sensitive to it, so I will keep a watchful eye. Any other experiences, please share
Thanks
I've been on it for about two years now and this is what I've noticed...
AF only visits for about 2 days.
AF is really light... a box of tampons lasts me a long time.
I rarely get any PMS... other than the usual weirdo tenderness in my pelvic area but no cramps at all.
My breasts haven't grown (they did with my other pills) at least it doesn't feel like they have... still holding strong at 36DDD. They were a little tender the first two months.
My face cleared up (I get compliments on my skin all the time.)
I seem to have less hair overall...
So far I've lost 11lbs... buth that's just because I've started to try to loose weight. (the other pills I've gained weight with).
Honestly, I've loved being on it. I can safely say, this one is the best I've been on and I would honestly say try it. Obviously, everybody reacts differently but I'd say, most side effects wear off after three months.
i usually react horribly to BCPs, but Yasmin has been great for me. no spotting at all, manageable periods, improved hormone levels, my skin looks better, slower body and facial hair growth, and no major weight gain. it is the only BCP with an antiandrogen progestin.
I've been on Yasmin for almost 3 months. My AF is shorter with no cramps or breast soreness. I haven't lost any weight...yet?!!!! I am going in soon to have bloodwork done again, so we'll see if there are any changes there. I had a light headache for the first week or so and some mood swings with really high ups. But, it seems to have stablilized. I like Yasmin just fine.

you guys ae making me feel a little better about starting Yasmin. I was so scared to start it because of my worries of weight gain and it interfering with insulin resistance. I've had the pack of BCP's for a month now and just decided this morning to take them. My boyfriend has been pressuring me to take BCP's but I had refused until my doc said it would help regulate my periods, slow the hair growth process and I guess just make things better for me overall. I'm still ambivalent and I guess you can say expecting for something to go wrong so I can say oh well I tried, I'm geting off this crap, LOL. Anyway I really pray this pill doesn't give me problems. I have been losing some weight and would hate to hit an impasse. We shall see!

I have had very good luck with Yasmin. I've lost weight, had shorter periods, and less hair growth. I still get some crampage but nothing like before when I was on nothing. Good luck.
