Default On Yasmin should I be worried?

I've been on Yasmin for about a year now, never miss any pills, always taken around the same time. A few months ago I took 2 packs straight to skip my period and it all went fine. I got my period at the end of the following pack. I did it again this past month and am at the end of the second pack, due to start the inactive pills on Sunday, but yesterday I felt some cramping, and today I'm having some brownish discharge when I use the bathroom. I usually don't get my period intil the 4th day of inactive pills. Could I be pregnant? Or am I just getting my period early? Should I continue with the pills as scheduled? (1 more active, followed by 7 inactive, followed by new pill pack).

It sounds like a bit of breakthrough bleeding. Your hormones may just be a little out of whack. I would wait and see if you get a normal period as usual. If you don't then I'd suggest a pregnancy test. If it's negative, then I wouldn't worry about anything. If you skip your period a second month, it's time to call the doc.

However, if you just want to make sure, you can always call your doctor's office and talk to a nurse (or the doctor if you can) and ask them if there's anything to worry about.

Personally, I think it's nothing major. I took Yasmin for three years and I had breakthrough bleeding from time to time that sounds exactly like what you described.

Hope this helps.

I agree, sounds like breakthrough bleeding to me; however, if you are worried you might call your doc. I know it won't hurt to take some BC when first pg and not knowing it, but some BC its not ok. ie - I'm on Yaz and because it has anti-androgen type ingrediants (similar to spiro). For this reason, my doc took me off spiro while i'm trying Yaz. And she wanted me to abstain for 14 days and then take a hpt before starting the yaz because of this.

Default Thanks

Thanks for your replies. I haven't had any crampy feelings or discharge today so I took my last pill and start the inactive tomorrow. I should get my period on Thursday so if it doesn't come I'll definitely take a HPT. I'm due to see an RE on the 13th to see if I can get back on Met, because I do want to start trying to get pg within the next year or two and want to try do as much as I can for myself before then. But for now, as much as I would LOVE to get pg, it would just be a bad idea simply because of my current situation. I have a very loving boyfriend and we have a great relationship but my parents despise him and waste not a minute of conversation talking badly about him. I know my happiness comes first but I can't help feeling guilty that I'm hurting and disappointing them by my "choice in such a man". I shouldn't even be posting this here but my mom just hung up on me after going off on another of her tirades about him and I just feel like crap.
