Default yasmin side effect?

I was taking yasmin for about six months. I just stopped taking them three days ago, and I have since had persistent heart palpitations. I'm trying to figure out what could be causing them. Could it be hormone fluctuations. Anyone else have this happen.

Yasmin actually has a "diuretic-type" affect and actually causes less water retention. However, the actions of its diuretic are similar to spinalactone and it is potassium sparing. Meaning it increases potassium. Increased levels of potassium can cause heart palpitations. That's what may be causeing your heart pblms. I would check w/ your doctor. Hope this helps!!

kloc12 is right yasmin has been shown to lower blood pressure because of the increase in potassium and the diurectic effect. I think it may be something else. I have palpitations and have had them since I gained weight. All of a sudden they just started one day. My doctor said it is normal for your haeart to do that every once in a while but I think it is because I am overweight. Weight has different effects on different peoples bodies. You should have it checked out because it could your thyroid or something else.
