I've been on Yasmin now for about a month--- my acne seems worse- definitely not any better yet... my breasts are killing me- I have NO sex drive and my ovaries are killing me. I'm wondering how much longer I should try this stuff. I was thinking that maybe it was just my body adjusting to new hormone levels. Anybody have any input? Thanks a bunch!

Everyone says it can take up to 6 months for your body to adjust. Yasmin did help my acne almost right away but the sex drive being killed is what is making me crazy to the point where I'm telling the doctor that I'm not taking any BCP anymore. (they work though, can't bet pg if you don't have sex)
I would certainly talk to your doctor if you are already having bad side effect because maybe you should be on a lower estrogen pill or something.
Good luck,
Leann

I tried Yasmin for the traditional 3 months and my symptoms never improved. Oh the urinating did get better but the really hard stuff to live with like tiredness, no sexdrive, poor skin were a negative for me. I was hopeful that it would be an improvement too. I switched back to ORtho-Cyclen, a very low androgenic drug with low progestin potency. It seems the Yasmin has a high level of progestin to estrogen ratio which causes me much trouble in pills. Similar to MIrcette and Demulin for me. I am about to add Spiro. back in. I haven't needed it since I gave birth but I believe its best for me to be on it!
Yasmin threw me into "DEPRESSION" I coulnd't understand it what so ever. The first BCP that gave me those kinds of side effects. I was not impressed with it but then that's only My Opinion!!!

the thing I am experiencing right now, with Yasmin and with the one I had before it recently....is that I may as well not be taking them. I get all the usual symptoms and then a period anyway. I must be way out of wack.
as for the no sex drive. anything with a testosterone supressing ingredient such as Yasmin or Spiranolactone, will have that same effect.
