Default yasmin and skipping periods

im currently on yasmin and was wondering if any one on yasmin or any other bcp ever skipped the white pills and if its okay to do that on a regular basis.
Is it safe to skip the placebos(white pills) and just go to the next pack of pills?

Aren't the white pills "placebo's" in otherwords, just reminder pills? Are you saying you continually take the yellowish pills without taking a week off?

I didn't take my white pills last month, but I did wait until the week was up before I took the "regular" pills.

It's safe to skip them but it's usually not a good idea to, you just may forget to start taking them again!

If you skip the white pills and go straight to the next pack you won't have your period. Since when you have your period, it isn't a "real" period anyway (since you aren't ovulating) I think it is probably safe to not take them. I would probably take them every other month if I were you.

I take Yasmin straight thru (skipping the white pills) for 3 months. I then go off for 4 days and restart on the yellow pills, I never touch the white pills. My AF is evil and this is what my Dr recommended to do, I've had considerably less problems since.

I've been doing that for a while now. Skipping the placebo's and starting a new pack right away. I do 3 months then let AF come. I just started yasmin about 2 months ago, and i took my last yellow pill on sunday but I still haven't gotten AF

Yes, you can do this. I did this for about two years, and it worked great (nothing like only having to deal with AF four times per year!).

I also have been on Yasmin and take it consecutively for 3 months, take 1 week off and then start the whole thing over again. Has anyone else noticed their periods seem different following this regimen?

I haven't spotted before but this last time I started spotting the final week of my last month. Then when I stopped the pills to take my week off, my period has been so strange. As nasty as it is, its dark dark dark (almost black) and very clotty. Its so unsual from any other periods I have had on this regimen or on any other BCP. It was so alarming I went to the walkin clinic where the dr was clueless to what PCOS was and said that the reason my period was like this was because I was taking the pill for 3 months at a time so the lining that is shedding is 'old'. I tried to explain that this hasn't happened for any of the other periods I've had on this regimen but I didn't get anywhere with him. All I want to know is if its normal to have this sort of clotting/texture and color... I have an appt with my own dr in the new year but by then my period will be long gone.

thanks!
