Is there anyone here who did not have success with Spironolactone for treating acne who has had success with Yasmin?

The reason I ask is because I was taking Spironolactone for my acne, but it made it worse. Where I once had moderate acne, I started breaking out in painful, cystic pimples that were very deep under the skin.

I've just been prescribed Yasmin, but I'm worried it's going to have the same effect, as I've heard it contains an ingredient that is very similar to Spironolactone.

Do you think it will have the same effect as Spironolactone did? I'd like to hear from any of you who have been on both medications, and what your experiences were like.

Yasmin gave me the same painful, cystic pimples you are talking about. I never had that problem until I started taking Yasmin. I was on Ovcon 35 and Spiro for about 8 years before taking Yasmin and never had these kind of outbreaks. But now, I've been off all BCP for 5 months and my skin is worse than it has ever been in my life!!!!! I wish I knew what was going on!

The same here!!..i have been taking Spiro 50 mg since 2 months for excess hair and thought it will help acne too ..but all what i see is im breaking out horriboly and acne became worse.i cant understand that with a drug seems to be antiandrogenic!!
ii was on Diane35 for 3 months before but didnt help much with acne.
I wonder for how long you have been using Spiro?what dose?
i dont know if i shall give it more time to work or what..
