Yasmin vs. other Monophasic BCP

I am curious if anyone has ever had luck with Yamin even though they do not have luck with other monophasic BCP.

I have only been on two brands of BCP - ortho-cycleen (monophasic) and ortho-tri-cycleen (tri-phasic)

The ortho-cycleen made my acne about 6 times as worse. It was AWFUL! Other than acne it was pretty good BC. But the acne was horrible. I was on it for many months so I gave it a fair chance, but this *was* back when I was in my late teens. (I am 30 now)

Ortho tri-cycleen practically cures my acne, but it causes problems with weight gain, libido drop, pre-menstrual migraines, etc.

Only recently have I put all my symptoms together and think I might have PCOS. I'm gonig into the gynocoogist on Tuesday to discuss alternate birth control and the possibility of PCOS, and from what I read there is a good chance I guess she might try to prescribe Yasmin. I am curious if anyone has had any good experience with Yasmin even though they have had negative experiences with other forms of monophasic BCP.

I thought I responded a post to this earlier! Oh well, I'll try again. The orthos you mentioned are pretty high in estrogen, which can worsen the migraines, bloating, mood swings, acne, and other fun things. Yasmin is pretty high in estrogen too, but it has a new sister pill, YAZ, with the same progestin (direspinone? spell) and about half the estrogen. YAZ has 24 "real" pills instead of the usual 21. You might have breakthrough bleeding, but IMO it's worth a try before the Yasmin with your history.

I did awful on Ortho Tri, awful on Triphasil (stomach!) so-so on Desogen. So-so on OrthoCept. My RE recommended Mircette but its progestin is one of the ones that worsens IR (only the Yas-family does not). There's also the ring, it has low estrogen as well.
