I've been on yasmin since I was dx 3 years ago, and everything's working very well, except that I get really moody and have crying spells during my placebo week, usually a day or two before the bleeding starts. But at least that's a hell of a lot better than the way my PMS used to be before I started yasmin! Anyhoo, I'd been reading about "YAZ," the new low-dose sister pill of Yasmin, and I was wondering if anyone had positive experiences on it. Because my theory is that not having such a drastic hormonal fluctuation would help me to not become so emotional during placebo week. |

My second month has been a disaster. I've bled for 3 weeks and 5 days now. My GYN said I just needed time to adjust, so I guess we'll see. I started My 3rd month yesterday. I'll let ya know how that goes.
Also, you may want to check with your insurance if you have prescription coverage. My copay with Yasmin was 20, with Yaz it's 45. good luck!

We will let you know when she starts month 2. We got 2 months of samples, so not sure of the cost. Our insurance does not cover BCP's even if it is for PCOS! |

Peaceful Angel, did you start Spiro or St. John's Wort or something the second month? Some drugs can interfere with AF and/or bcp.

My Mood: Points: 2,925.44 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,925.44 | I had previously been on Yasmin for 4 years and was having awful migraines during the placebo week. I just finished my first month of Yaz, and so far its been great -- but it may be too early to tell. My doc thinks that having 24 active pills will help with the migraines.

My Mood: Points: 29,266.61 Bank: 25,362.03 Total Points: 54,628.65 | I see a lot of cysters on spiro & one of the Yasmin-family, but I think they can lower the dose of the spiro. PCOS spiro doses seem to range from 25-200 mg so there's a lot of room for play.
I just wondered if some other med might have been causing PP spotting/bleeding.

Weird as weird can be, I stopped bleeding yesterday, exactly like I did when I started the first month. I hope this isn't going to be an every other month thing.
As far as not taking fluid pills and Yasmin, I take Yasmin (well Yaz now), Ziac for high blood pressure that has fluid pill in it, and 40mg of Lasix a day. LOL. I take Potassium with them, and have never had a problem.
Thanks for thinking of that! I've been back on my diet that the RE gave me back when we were TTC, and I'm wondering if loosing weight might have something to do with it. I'm just glad it's over!
Hugs
