Glad to hear you're having such luck on Yaz and Yasmin. Everybody reacts so differently on each pill. I may have PCOS too but have not had an ovarian ultrasound yet. Endo does not suspect it.
BTW, I read that zinc deficiency is very common in most women, esp. those on the bcp. As zinc deficiency (copper excess) can cause hair loss, you might want to add a little zinc to your regimen and have a hair TMA in a few months to see how you're doing. I've noticed a benefit with it already in the way of decreased shed!
A hair tissue mineral analysis is a test that you can have run on about 1 tbsp of your hair. It tells you mineral content and heavy metal content IN YOUR CELLS (as opposed to blood and urine which are not as accurate as one shows what is circulating in your system and the other shows what you're excreting because you don't need it). It is supposed to be excellent for hard to pin down health troubles.
I just finished my first month, didnt really have any side effects, but AF hasnt come yet and I start taking my pills tomorrow, which is fine with me as long as this pill is doing its job. I hope the side effects stay away!

Glad to hear so far so good. I start Yaz next week and felt a little nervous as well. If it helps weight loss and reducing hair growth that alone will be worth it for me. I am not thrilled to go on BCP as not having AF has been sort of nice. LOL We also do not care if I get prego but are not actually trying.
btw- I think I read many people see AF once they start the next set of pills.
That's what I'm curious about. I took Lo-estrin for years and stopped about 3 years ago. I started Yaz last month and am almost to the end of my first pack. I always knew with the Lo-estrin exaclty when my period would start. I have no idea with the Yaz. Since I take the first white pill tonight, it sounds like it will be the weekend before AF arrives. Has this been most people's experience? I'm just wondering how to plan my weekend.

I never got AF last month and I started taking my 2nd pack yesterday, I hope it regulates this month, I have been really emotional the past few days and I'm sure its the hormones
Well I had my follow up appt yesterday and since i have been spotting for the past 5 days he went ahead and switched me to yasmin which is cool with me since its only $20 with my insurance, he said it has more estrogen in it than YAZ so hopefully my spotting will stop, its really annoying! I didnt have a period in between taking the pills, and when I started my second month on week 1 I start spotting, yuck!
Ugh I am still bleeding, so far I do not like Yasmin, the nurse said it was strange that I am still bleeding and told me to stop taking it for 3 days then start again, god I am gonna be so screwed up!
I've been spotting for 2 1/2 weeks. DR said keep taking yaz, it's just my body adjusting. She doesn't want to change in the middle. I have an appt at the end of September. I may call again before then.

see why do they all have to tell us different things. To begin with my dr started me on the YAZ in the middle of my cycle which goes against what i have always heard from other drs. then to switch me to Yasmin in the middle of my pill pack, I think that is why I am so messed up.
Mine said start the Sunday after my period started like always. She didn't want to switch yet. She said finish the second pack and see if the bleeding stops. So far, no luck.
