Angry Yasmin and weight gain?

I don't know what's going on! I have never had trouble with my weight (I know how lucky I've been). But I am on my third pack of yasmin and I'm noticing a change. Granted one month was over Christmas, and Christmas pretty much sets you up for weight gain, but in the weeks since Christmas that I've been good again I'm still gaining weight! Anyone else had this trouble with Yasmin?

Actually I lose weight on Yasmin. Maybe partly b/c I feel better and am more inclined to exercise. For the first three months I was hungry a lot though, and got stomach aches at night. But a few months later I found that the Yasmin improved my ability to lose weight, among other things.

I started 500mg of Glucophage XR and Yasmin at the same time and lost 20 lbs fairly quickly. NOt sure if it was one or hte other or both but I lost weight.

My OBGYN told me that a Yasmin has more of a diuretic effect, helping you lose weight. I was on the Nuva Ring for 2 months and decided to switch...she recommended Yasmin. I just had gastric-bypass 2 months ago and am down 57 pounds From a size 30 pants to a 20, and 30-32 tops to an 18-20.

The ring causes you to gain weight or not let you lose it as easily so I switched. I am on my AF now, so I will be trying Yasmin in a week. Since I have a sensitive stomach...I pray that I will not have side effects-like I have read in some of these other posts!

Maybe you need to watch your carb intake...that's what got me up to 348 in the first place...I am now at 253...down 95 pounds total I was on phentermine before the RNY surgery.

Best of luck!
Sherry

Thumbs up Congratulations!

Congratulations on your weight loss! Way to go! I have an extremely sensitive stomach so I had stomach aches for the first month or two that I went on Yasmin (only had them at night - also I take the pill at night) but sometimes I took Pepto and it made the aches go away. The good thing is that the stomach aches go away on their on. I hope you have lots of more successes!

I was on YASMIN for four months and I found that it increased my appetite. I did not gain for some strange reason but I continuously had the munchies - tried to feed them with carrots

Smile It calms down...

When I started Yasmin for the first month, my appetite was horrendous! I could eat and eat and eat.... needless to say, it all went to my thighs! Well, I'm starting the third month and cravings are now manageable and I expect the weight to go to. I had a real tough time the first month, but it balances out, even the side effects. Well for me anyway...

Yes,

i had a terrible time with Yasmin. I gained 15 pounds and was always tired. I was always bloated as well, which is weird because the ingredient in Yasmin is supppoosed to be a diuretic. I stopped after six months. I did have good results on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen which I was on before Yasmin, so I'm gonna' try the Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo and see how I do with that.
