Question Yasmin: When did you notice a difference?

I was put on this a week ago to help w/my hormones and I am curious as to when everyone else started noticing a difference.
Did it help your mood?
Any other positives?

Hey!
It took me a while to notice a difference, but it does come. It took a while though because I had gone 2 years without a AF and so my hormones were all out of whack. With the extra hair, my endo told me that it can take six months to a year to fix that. The only times I still have trouble with my hormones/moods is when I switch from the yellow pills to the white pills. I usually feel really down during that time because my body has gotten so use to estrogen and then all of a sudden it stops. Yasmin did help my mood though--it made me feel more together, but it does take time to achieve that feeling. If you have any other questions feel free to ask! I hope you have a blessed day!

Hi, I just started Yasmin 4 days ago too... no changes in anything yet, but I am really, really bloated. My pants are really tight and it is aggravating! I was wondering if you are having the same experience?

I feel a little bloated but not bad but that happens to me anyway when I eat dairy or wheat I think.
I started my 2nd week on Sun. and so far so good. I had headaches that first week but now they're gone.
I am really hoping htis helps my hormones!!!!

That's interesting. My PMS is worse with Yasmin and this explanation makes sense. My moods weren't affected on Ortho-triciclene-lo, and I now think it's because each week had a different color pill, which I suspect were different strengths of estrogen. Perhaps a more gradual decrease until the week of my period.

At least, that's my theory. However, I do feel down most of the time since being on Yasmin. I'm an optimistic person, so it's troublesome not to be, and I blame it on the Yasmin.

My skin is better, my hair is growing so fast (on my head). Negatively: I'm an emotional rollercoaster. At times it's so suddenly changing that it's overwhelming. I'm considering switching despite its positive effects on my skin and hair.

Hey guys, I just started on Yasmin this morning. I read somewhere that BCP's make insulin resistance worse. I'm afraid to take this stuff because I do not need the extra weight gain. I'd rather focus on weight loss than on hair growth and acne because I figure like this...if you lose the wieght than the other symptoms will decrease??? I don't know is anyone else with me?

from what i understand, most other BCPs can make insulin resistance worse, but antiandrogens actually improve it slightly, and yasmin is the only BCP in the US that has an antiandrogen for a progestin.
