Yasmin worries Hi, all. I hope it's okay if I post this here. While I just found out that I don't have PCOS after all, I've had a problem with extremely scant periods that only come about every six weeks or so. Because of this, my nurse practitioner put me on the Pill. I've had problems with Ortho-Cyclen in the past, so I asked for basicly any brand not made by Ortho. All she had left in the office was Yasmin, so I started on that for my first trial.
Anyway, my question was this: while I'm super-grateful that the two biggest concerns I had haven't happened (depression and weight gain), I'm a little nervous about the idea of taking a diuretic every day. AFAIK, Yasmin is the only Pill whose progesterone also contains a diuretic, right? The thing is, I don't have any problems with excess water retention to begin with. Is it safe or healthy to mess with what was a normal water balance in my body to begin with? Am I likely to incur kidney, liver or dehydration problems from using this med?
I'm asking here because she was in a hurry that day, I can't call on a weekend now, and I'm getting kinda concerned the more I think about it.
I've lurked here forever; and this looked like a great place to ask.
Thanks! |
