Last year, I was on ortho-tricycline and met. The met caused severe abdominal pain and the ortho was giving me migraines. I would go to the doctor for all the pain and instead of looking at the meds I was taking, he just wanted to put me on narcotics.... needless to say, I stopped going to the doctor altogether. After my first month of cold turkey, I gained 20 lbs. I started stabling out and stayed that way for about a year. But, I was so emotional, my skin was a wreck and my weight was creaping up even further. My joints jurt... pretty much all of the symptoms of PMDD.

I went to a new OB who specialized in PCOS. She put me on YAZ and I will be starting back on Met in a few months. During week one-one and a half I felt REALLY good. Even my asthma and allergies cleared up. It was the first time in 12 years that I could breathe and my emotions seemed to even out. Then I missed a pill and took 2 the next day. I can barely move. I feel like I'm miscarrying. I am so exhausted and in alot of pain. To add insult to injury, I also have killer heart burn I hope this doesn't happen every time I miss a dose. I can't afford to miss more work

My skin has always been fairly clear most of the month, but YAZ kept my skin clearer longer.

By far the best thing about it has been the weight loss, and most of it has been stomach fat. I've lost 3 inches in the past two months. I feel like my body is finally working normally.

My initial symptoms were a bit of spotting, tiredness, random leg pains, and strange, intense dreams. These lasted about two weeks to a month.
I agree!! That makes sense, I've been experiencing a lot of wierd dreams too & the leg cramping, tiredness!! Thanks heidelberg! That helped clear up a few questions I had!

I've been on Yaz and Yasmin. No side effects on either. I started all packs on Sunday. Yaz made my period come Friday or Saturday of the last week and on Yasmin I get my period on Tuesday or Wednesday. I have some large amounts of hair loss, but this is how I see it... I was on Yasmin and Yaz before the hair loss started. I never had a problem with it. Now that my hair is shedding, I switched back to Yasmin for the added estrogen. I think that a lot of people blame Yasmin for hair loss, when they were already shedding in the first place, or maybe they were going to start shedding anyways. Now of course I believe that Yasmin and Yaz can both induce hair loss when there are no other problems, but think of all the people on these two BCs with NO PROBLEMS!!! When there IS a problem, that is when people talk about it. Not many people talk about it when there is no problem. Also, if you look at all BC pills, everyone says that Scalp Hair Loss can be a side effect...

Recap: I've been on both with no side effects, except a lighter period and less cramps
