Default YAZ question

Has anyone completed 2 or more months of YAZ? DD has almost completed her first month on it and has actually noticed improvement already. She will start MET next week after a visit to a dietician and a period after the first cycle on YAZ!
Thanks for any input!

I just started on Yaz. Did you get good results on Yaz alone? I was wondering because that is what they put me on and am concerned that it may not be enough....

I always hear about people on Met. MY doctor did not want to put me on it right now for fear of making my low blood sugar worse.

Talking Pack 2 - DONE

I just finished my second pack today, and have loved it. My facial hair is diminished, and best of all my sex drive is back. My endo says the lower dose should also help me lower my trigyclerides- which went up as my cholesterol went down (she says this is typical in PCOS). We'll see next week! But I love it- except the cost.

I'm getting off this stuff. I'm so happy for you all that are doing well on it! I just can't take the constant bleeding. This is my 4th month starting and I've bled for 8 weeks of the time. Can't deal with that.

Good luck to you all!
hugs
Julie

Finishing up my second month of Yaz and absolutely love it! I have had no migraines the second month (this was a huge problem on Yasmin), and have had no side effects from it.

Default I have

I have been on yaz for... not sure how many months but it has been several. it is really helping me. my periods are just about regular, maybe like a day difference sometimes, and I got my metoblism back. I'm not as hungry anymore, I think that is because of the insulin and the hormones getting back to normal.

Marnimcfly, my Triglycerides and Cholesterol were close to perfect (on Crestor & Tricor) right before I started Yaz. After 6 months on Yaz, my Tris went up from 104 to 189. Not horrible, but about the same reading as they were before taking either Yaz or Tricor. My HDL went down (which is the good cholesterol, so you want it up). I'd be interested to hear how your tests turn out for you blood lipids while on Yaz. Everything I try to help the androgen levels and excess hair seems to mess up something else.

Yaz...
I've been on it 1 month so far. I start my next pack tomorrow. D:
The first week I was so sick to my stomach I stopped eating. My sense of smell was incredible and just about everything turned my stomach. I lost my appetite and also lost about 6lbs (which I needed). The next week my acne went away but I got so moody and angry everyone complained. The third week I wanted to cry every day and I had cramps but no spotting. Last week was fine. All of my side effects went away except occasional cramping. I took all of my placebo(white) pills except for one, yet no period yet.

What's going on!????? My last period was in March. >__>

EDIT: nvm. i finally got my period around 3:00pm today. sorry if this is TMI but it was really mucous-y and not much blood at first. Now it's flowing more steady and i have cramps bad enough to hurt the devil, probably. i have never before wanted to scream due to cramping. now i find myself angry and in pain. next month better not be like this. i have college and i am living with roommates!

Hi! I've been on Yaz for about a year now. I've had great results with it and 100 mg of Spiro.. I had a follow up with my Dr. a few months after I started and she was planning on putting me on Met, but my symptoms had improved so much (and the Yaz kept me at the same weight) that she never put me on the Met

How different is Yaz from Yasmin? My new endo prescribed Yasmin today. I have not tried it yet. I have tried other BCP's in the past with little success. I also have a pituitary microadenoma and bilateral lactation (I am not pregnant--stopped breastfeeding 16 months ago). I'm scared to try this BCP, but I have intolerable anxiety, depression, and hypoglycemia for 1-2 weeks per month. PLEASE ADVISE!

does the Yaz help with weight loss? I have been on other BCP's and caused me to swell really bad with fluid, crazy mood swings and etc. thanks for any advice I am thinking about asking my Dr. for this to try.

Unhappy Hating Yaz

I was put on Yaz a month ago and have been sleeping nonstop ever since. It is what I can do to get my energy up in the morning now to go to work. I finished the third week two days ago (no pills for a week now) and yesterday and today I break out in cold sweats and crying fits. I woke up with back pain, which is a change from the leg pain I've been experiencing over the last couple weeks. To top it off, it didn't even help me bleed like the doctor wanted me to. What led me to the doctor was 3 months of nonstop bleeding, which she put me on meds to stop. Now she needs me to start my period to do the blood work needed to confirm the PCOS she suspects so we can start treating it. But now I can't seem to start my period, even on YAZ.

I have a call in to my doctor. What bums me out is that if I have to change to a different BCP, then it won't have the special med for PCOS that my doctor said YAZ contains.
