Default Yaz- Suitable for PCOS

I am wondering about trying Yaz. In the past I lost a lot of weight while taking birth control pills and changing them trying to find one that didn't make me bat**** crazy! It is the only time in my life I have ever lost weight ( I lost around 50 lbs). I assume the BCP did something hormonally to me that resolved my PCOS issues so long as I stayed taking them.
Whatever it did it also caused emotional upheaval and it was just too much and some brands gave me terrible migraines. I was told not to use the pill anymore.
I wonder if this pill is very different. From what I understand it has a spironalactone base rather than a progestin, which they say is testosterone based.
I really would like to go back on the pill for contraceptive reasons, I wonder if this pill really is any different from the rest. I wonder if it is out in the UK. I will have to go to the family planning and ask I guess.

Does anyone have a good understanding of these things? Is anyone on it?

I've tried a search but yaz isn't long enough.

I had the 3-letter search problem and on the Board Function board, Kat told me to use the wildcard character. Yaz*

I just started taking Yaz to get my testosterone levels down and "to give my ovaries a break" as my endo said (I spent at least half of last year TTC.) So far, so good on the Yaz. I haven't noticed ANY side effects on the Yaz, except maybe that 2 days after I started it, I dropped 2 lbs. right away, after being in a little bit of a stall in my weight loss! I am also on Metformin, however, and don't know if that has anything to do with it, too.

I am midway through my first month on Yaz. My doc put me on it to bring my testosterone down and to help with my hirsutism. She didn't want to do spironolactone, because I have low blood pressure, even though I have high cholesterol. lol. Anyways, I've noticed that it's helping some with slowing down hair regrowth after waxing, and my acne has lessened, though the first few days were hellish. I've also just recently started spotting. I had a few days of light headaches at the beginning, and some weight loss.

I haven't had any problems so far. This is my first month. My irritability has gone down quite a bit. Just ask DH and the kids LOL
