It's harder to post on here than anything.

My concerns have to do with my girlfriend switching from Yaz to Yasmin. The reason being her insurance don't cover Yaz as it's pretty expensive. My concern has to do with waiting periods before switching from one to another. Are there any or should she consult a doctor before continuing?

My other has to do with bleeding, increased estrogen, and gain weight. I'd really like for her to go through the smoothest transition as possible and I'd like her to go through as little as possible for her sakes.

If there's detailed sites that explain things with sources, then I'd be more than happy to take them from you guys.

I would suggest that she talks with her doctor before she switches to find out the best way. I don't think she wants to stop bc all together before starting the new one so they should be able to explain the best way to do it. Good luck to her!

Default I am switching in a week.

I was on the yasmin for three months and it has been good, losing weight, better energy, less food cravings, general sense of well being, not bleeding all month anymore but I fell like I've drank too much coffee and my voice has gone up an octive, about a week ago my heart started racing whenever I lay down so, from my understanding Yaz is the same thing but a lower dose so I will try that. Wish me luck!

My doc hurry up and put me on az when she diagnosed me with pcos. She said it was the best bcp on the market, and i liked the idea of taking it b/c im also sure that i have pmdd too. the thing is that now there are all kinds of commercials saying that yaz puts you at high risk for blood clotts and heart attack which we cysters already are at a higher risk of getting. I know that all bcp increase risk of blood cloots and such because of the fake progesterone in them. Is yaz just as bad as other bcps or is it worse?
