Question Yaz and Yasmin are different right?

Just to be clear, Yaz and Yasmin are not the same pill, though they are very similar and made by the same company, right? I've been reading a lot of threads about both on here and it seems like people are using "Yaz" and "Yasmin" synonymously which is confusing to me... I don't know which one people are actually ever talking about! That is, if they are different.

Interesting you should post about this.

I just had my yearly physical appt with my Dr this morning. She wanted me to try out Yasmin so she gave me some samples.

She said that the same company produces Yaz & Yasmin. She said that the patent is expiring for Yasmin so the company is just re-releasing it as Yaz. She said it's the same product, just a different name.

Has anyone else heard otherwise?

Yaz is a lower hormone dose. They are not the same pill.

Hope that helps. I've taken both.

Great to know. Thanks for the info. My Dr wasn't quite certain about the differences.

It's really confusing to me too, I have actually taken both, The first time was before I got pregnant, I was given yasmin, then after my pregnancy I was given Yaz. I HATED yaz... I definately think they are different!
