First I want to say Hi to everyone and that you are all a great group of gals. I was newly diagnosed two weeks ago and some things are starting to make sense, such as the fact that I went months as a teenager without a period and the body hair that rivals a chia pet at times!! I went to the dr. because of pelvic pain and of course, the hair. The Dr. did an exam and then did a vag ultrasound and found the many many cysts. I learned that I am so incredibly blessed by having two children, Brendin, who will be four this month, and Devin Alexis, who just turned two. The reason for my blessing, I believe, is that I had lost 104 pounds. I had went without birth control for the first 5 years of my relationship with my husband. So Brendin was a surprise. I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was eight weeks along, because my periods have always been screwed up!! And then Devin came along when Brendin was 21 1/2 months old. Since then, I have not been able to lose the enormous amount of weight that I gained with both pregnancies! Anyone with advice, I would appreciate it. I am on metformin and will start Yasmin birth control to help with periods (hoping that it starts soon). I had my tubes tied, so the birth control is only for periods. I am 27 and have been married for 7 years, but have been with husband for 10. Just wondering any information would be appreciated. Thank you for reading this incredibly long story!!
What has helped me w/losing weight is limiting carbs and drinking plenty of water.
Hope this helps - look forward to getting to know you.

Thank you for your welcomes! Like laneide, I also have psorasis. My dad had it, so me and my siblings all seem to have it also. There are 7 of us kids, so that's a lot of psorasis! I also have slightly high cholesterol and slightly high blood pressure. I have heard that it could be associated with PCOD. DOes anyone know if that is true?
