Default Yipeee I got a period!!

Hey...I've been off the Pill since Feb last year, no period since. I started on Met about 3 weeks ago and today just got my Period! I guess probably the 3rd 'natural' one ever! Can you call a Met period a natural one???

So I'm quite chuffed! Never thought i'd be so excited about having a period and cramps. Bring it on!!!

But I have a question - does that mean that I ovulated? Or not neccessarily?? I'm going to start doing my temps again (I have a new motivation!)

I really want to concieve, its all I think about. I've got such hope now. Should I??? DOes this mean I can concieve??

ANy opinions?!!

Elk.

I think you would need to temp to be sure whether or not you ovulated...but,yes you could consider it a real period.. and I would be excited too!!!
We're pretty similar- I'm 25 and I had only ONE period when I was 17..so hey you're beating me!!!!
Keep us updated on how met works for you! It's nice when you see there are people out there like you!

Congrats, girl! You never thought you'd be excited to get a period, and I never thought I'd be jealous of someone for getting her period. I read "Yippee. I got my period!", and I thought, "That lucky b**ch!!" Good for you, though. I was on met for about two months, and didn't get one, and I went off it last week, after having a weird reaction to some antibiotics, and freaking out with paranoia that Met was killing my liver. Now just trying some more natural approaches since I'm not TTC. Good luck! (Oh, Met was not killing my liver, btw. I had a blood test to check, and it was fine.)

Haahaa Laura, your hilarious.

Yes it was quite exciting..but then 2 days in I remembered what Periods were like and all of a sudden 1 year without them seemed ok! Its GROSS! These women who love it are very very strange!

But yes I do count my blessings! It will happen for you I'm sure!

Blessings,

N

I wish I was getting my period - Good for you!! How did your doctor determine whether or not you should go on Met? I had regular periods until September and they have pretty much stopped since. I have tried to same things as you have over the past six months with no results.

Good luck with TTC!

Hey! ummm..well the doctor knows I'm very "hostile" to Drs. and chemical medicine in particular.

So I guess they have known I've been trying to work with a naturopath for the past year since going off the pill.

I asked them "If I were to trust you...what would you do as treatment" hahhaa...I'm a bit mean! Nah I said it in the most pleasant way!

They said met as it just seems to be the treatment that works. The Pill they have realised was a very silly idea and generally makes matters worse!

Elkanah,
Did they ever diagnose you with IR? I don't have it but have been on Met since Oct '07 and have been getting regular periods (I was on bcp's since age 15 for PCOS).
