ANYBODY GET DESPERATE AND CHANGE DOCTORS SEVERAL TIMES? I'VE DONE CLOMIPHENE, METFORMIN, PRIMOLUT, PROGYLUTON, CHANGED MY DIET AND MY LIFE AND STILL NOT GETTING BETTER. WILL SOON CHANGE DOCTOR CAUSE MINE DOESN'T LISTEN MUCH.
DEPRESSION AND MOOD SWINGS ARE BAD. ANXIETY ATTACKS AND HOT FLASHES ARE KILLING MY SLEEP AND I'M AT MY WITS END. I'M ONLY 26 AND ALWAYS FEEL ABOUT 100!!! COMMENTS ANYONE???? I WOULD BE GRATEFUL!
I've changed doctors because I've relocated or had different insurance companies, and I've noticed that they have all treated PCOS very differently. My current dr is by far the best and most knowledgeable about it and is very pro- active and aggressive in treating me.
Have you had a full endocrine work up? Are you sure you have PCOS? Is there anything else you have been diagnosed with? If nothing is working for you then you may want to seek out specialists (if you are able to) to see if there is something else going on or other things in addition to PCOS.
Good luck. I know how frustrating it can be to feel like you're getting nowhere.
I too have been to all sorts of different doctors. All also treated the PCOS differently. I have moved back and forth from TN to MI and now we are in KS. I test out a new doc at the end of May. Should be fun. I have had pretty much every procedure you can do and a couple surgeries. Basically 2005 was a year I took OFF from doctors. I was so sick of being tested, poked, etc. Now that we are getting ready to TTC #2 I have to jump back on the wagon and get ready for the ride.

Thanks for answering. I thought no one was out there!!?? I guess I was just feeling blue. I decided to give my old doctor another chance. Going to a new doctor would mean bigger expenses. Can't really afford this now 'cause my boyfriend will leave Belize soon to go study in Hawaii. This has me kind of bummed out but I have an interview on wednesday. Hopefully, this will be a better paying job and will keep me more occupied. Less time to think about pcos.
You are right when you say that there may be other things involved when I say I feel sick. I suffer from Rheumatic fever and get a penicillin shot every 28 days. This makes me feel down for a day or two. Hurts my butt too!!!!!
Glad to hear any other comments you might have.
Tiana'smom, how did you get your Miracle baby??? Was she conceived using IVF or any other such???

Meds: Metformin: 1000mg/day A good bed Lots of sleep!
I also changed doctors, the doc i'm with now is def the best and actually treats my pcos (my previous doc told me pcos doesn't exist and my symptoms would go away with age. WTH!) i'm sorry you also have the rheumatic fever ~ the shots sound painfull!!
i'm also 26 and with all the pcos symptoms + i get these awful bumps in my armpits each time AF comes, the bumps grow and are extremely painfull and i have to take meds to make them go away. I've been on 8 antibiotic courses in the last 7/8 months and i'm still not 100%. Being sick and on meds suck big time!!! I also feel like i'm 80! lol
But CONGRATS on your interview!! I hope you get the job (and the paycheck!!)
Hang in there girl ~ remember the cysters are always there for you!

~I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once~
Hey Sophie, thanks for answering quickly. I sometimes skip doing the internet thing for a couple of days. Last night was a bad night for me. I had a horrific anxiety attack and crying bout. Pablo, my boyfriend, didn't know what to do. I don't blame him. It's scary sometimes.
Our anniversary is on the 11 of May but we won't be able to celebrate until at the end of May, this really sucks!! Anyway, thanks for sharing your feeling with me!!! Catch you later!!!!

I have gone through 23 doctors (GP, OB, Internal Med, RE, Endo, you name it) in 5 years. I refused to accept "the pill, Rogaine, and Prozac" as my solution. Finally found a keeper--RE & does OB too. Before that, I had a RE that was pushy-IVF, a separate OB-ONC to do my pap since he's the only one that saw hemorrhaging as a problem, and of course the GP doc-in-the box for non PCOS stuff.
Hey--I figure, we know ourselves and our own health best so you have to push for what you want. No one else cares as much as we do!
Plus I am still bitter at my old, EX OB & GP that couldn't diagnose me 10 years ago when I bled for four months straight and broke out with PCOS symptoms suddenly during/after depo. Instead, I was dismissed as a "nutcase."

Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.
I changed OBs because my first OB was a complete and total quack. She would constantly contradict her own medical advice and made fun of some of the questions I called in with (acting like it was another patient calling in.) Once I saw her roll her eyes when given a message slip from another patient. In December 2004, despite having LAB WORK RESULTS in front her her saying I had a positive beta, she insisted it was negative and I hadn't been pregnant with Angel Baby / Loss # 2.
A friend referred me to her OB. 2 months later I had Loss # 3 (we actually suspect I had another loss while transferring doctors, but I never had bloodwork so we don't know for sure) and he referred me to an RE, who tested me for Recurrent Pregnancy Loss. He found the problem, we conceived again that month and due to a PROACTIVE doctor (2, actually - the new OB and the RE) and me being willing to stand up for myself and push for medical care, I carried that pregnancy to term and had a son on January 10th.
I never would have had him if I were still with the first doctor. I would have just kept miscarrying over and over, and she would have kept insisting that either a) I wasn't getting pregnant or b) it was just bad luck.
Stand up for good medical care!
