Default You might be a PCOS cyster if...... Part 2

This is a continuation of the 24 page thread: "You might be a PCOS chick if..." started by alaskaflygirl on Oct 14, 2003.

Here are mine:

...you give your husband tips on proper facial shaving techniques.

...people sympathetically ask if you ever fell into a vat of Rogaine.

...you have five different sizes of clothes in your closet- and you're able to wear 'em all in a one-month period.

...you either have forgotten what a tampon looks like (for those of us without menses)

...or you're solely responsible for keeping Kotex in business (for those of us who bleed like a stuck pig for weeks/months at a time)

...your fertility doctor knows you so well, they invite you over for Thanksgiving dinner.

...you keep a plumber on retainer to unplug your pipes (thanks to all the hair that falls out and builds up)

Here are a couple more that I thought of:

You might be a PCOS cyster if.....

.....you have been Dx’ed with 10 different things, and Rx’ed 10 different meds, by 10 different “specialists” and then finally see a doc who actually knows his stuff, only to find out that it was all caused by PCOS in the first place.

.....you have ever admitted your actual weight to a board full strangers, but your driver’s license says that you are only 130 lbs.

You might be a PCOS cyster if.....

.....your fertility specialist has ever Rx’ed BCP when you were trying to get PG.

.....you have ever gotten PG while taking BCP.

.....it took several years, and a ton of fertility meds to get PG with your first baby, and then got a surprise BFP only a few months post partum after you start taking BCP’s.

Here are a couple more that I thought of:

You might be a PCOS cyster if.....

..... your fertile friend tells you, “My DH just looks at me and I get PG” and you secretly wish her DH would look at you.

..... you have spent several years, thousands of dollars and countless tears on OPKs, HPTs, and numerous rounds of fertility drugs, that all resulted in BFNs, then finally decide to give up all your efforts, only to get a surprise BFP a few months after stopping everything.

..... you have ever stalked someone (or their chart) and it was OK with them, because they asked to be stalked.

You might be PCOS cyster if.... you plan your bathroom break at work around everyone else's lunch break... just to make sure noone else is around.

Of course, this doesn't work if you just absolutely can't wait any longer! Or if you aren't sure if thats really a fart in there or not... and really don't want to find out the hard way.

WOW -- first of all, this is some of the funniest stuff I've ever read!
Secondly, it is so fantastic to *finally* connect with other women who are going through the same things I am...who are my cysters....so I don't have to feel like a freak of nature and all alone in the world anymore!

This has me rolling on the floor for two reasons...

1) My driver's license really DOES say 130! And at the time (two years ago), I really was that weight. So when I get carded for buying alcohol and he clerk's eyebrow raises over my now size 12/190 pound body, I use it as a chance to give them a super-brief, super-condensed education on PCOS. :-D

2) It's weird...when I was 122 lbs. for years and years, I was incredibly intimidated to admit my weight because there was always that "5 extra pounds" I could stand to lose (OH the slappings I would get if I could go back in time!). Now, 60+ pounds and a career in flight training later, I'm constantly having to divulge my weight to make others feel comfortable with telling me theirs. One of my responsibilities is to figure out which kind of plane and which instructor brand new student pilots have to fly in (for example, I can't put a 200+ student with one of my "bigger" instructors in one of the smaller planes- there's limits on how much every kind of plane on earth can lift). Some of the overweight ones are really timid about telling me the scale readout, so I simply interject with "I'm 190, how much are you?" Once they pick their jaw up off the ground, they usually have NO problem telling ANYONE how much they weigh. ;-)

ooooh, is that why our tub keeps getting plugged? I guess I have been in major denial about getting thinner up-top.

My drivers licence has always said 130 for the longest time, and I just went to check to see what I put on my latest one, and it looks like I finally fessed up. But now that I have been losing weight, I actually weigh LESS than my drivers license says. Darn, this one doesn't expire for a few years. Hum, (scheming in her head) I should "lose" that drivers license so I have to get a duplicate made.

Here are a few more I thought of:

You might be a PCOS cyster if.....

…..you have ever gone to the website with pictures of the African fertility statues (The fertility statues are back!!), and rubbed your computer screen over and over until you hands got calloused (or until your co-workers started giving you weird looks)

……a complete stranger has ever touched your non-pregnant belly, and asked when the baby is due, and you lied, and said, “Any day now.”

…….you have ever shouted for joy, laughed out load, prayed as hard as you could, and burst into tears all within the same hour, as you were reading the boards.
