HI
has anyone been watching this? I got the book and have lost over 2kilos in five days. I have been stuck at a plateau for more than 3 months and was starting to slowly creep up. I was really nervous that without linking and balancing with IRdiet that i would gain really fast but i am having all fruit meals for breakie and eating grains too and i feel really really GOOD. Just thought I would share and see if anyone else has tried it. (the book is only 9.99 at borders normally 12.99 everywhere else)
Thanks
yuka
I just got her book yesterday and have been watching the show...The book is good, I am definately going to incorporate some of it into my diet...I am on Slimming World at the moment and it is working very well for me...I have lost three stone so far!! But as you know with SW you can pretty much eat how you want, so it shouldn't be to hard to combine them...

HI
the nettle tea is good but Dr stuarts detox tea with dandelion burdock sage wich dr gillian also recomends sneakily has mint in it wich makes it gross. Unless you like hot funky mint
Snow- slimming world is good and it should be easy to combine them except for the nut and seed thing. Did/do you find sw teaches portion control? I did it for a year on my own with the books no meetings and lost 5 stone then i plateaued for a while and switched to IR diet and did that and lost a stone then plateaued again and went back to very low carbs lost 1/2 stone then back to IR again and kept losing and gaining. I know i am a diet junkie i have tried everything and after reading this book i thought i would try it but would probably gain a few pounds because of the carbs but and not linking and balancing but in one week i dropped 3.2kilo(.5stone) and i feel GREAT my ibs seems to have calmed right down (i can go almost everyday yeah and no more horrendus bloating and wind) and i feel really nice i mean mood-wise i want to be nice to my boyfriend and i feel chilled and did not have to attack any co-workers with a tack hammer this week wich is a really positive thing.
Dr. gillian is my new best friend ha ha lets just hope i dont plateau again 'cause i have pretty much done all the diets out there lol
Hope there will be another series shes tough and good
Am I the only one finding her a bit patronising? I hate skinny people telling other people how they should eat! Ok, so these people are eating really unhealthily and its bad for them, but changing your diet so radically can't be good for you either? Surely people would be more succesful if they changed their diet over a few weeks/months?
Glad some of you are finding her advice useful and its helping you lose weight
yukabee, I have done it all as well...I did try the IR diet but seem to do better with SW...The portion control is gone over in meetings but I mostly stick with the free foods anyway...The nuts can be taken as a healthy extra, I have been having the pumkin seeds in my yogurt...SW allows 2 dessert spoons as a Healthy extra which is more than Dr Gillian says to have in her book...Minty nettle...gross!!
I agree with you cjsw about her being patronizing in many ways...Not sure her approach would work for me, I think I would cry if I had her in my kitchen telling me I am fat!! But, on the other hand although she is a bit of a food nazi at the end of the show the participants have a positive outcome, they obviously were in a desperate situation to have a colonic on tv...I was really horrified with her approach when I first saw her but she has grown on me now...After reading her book I see that she is genuinely living this lifestyle herself, kinda goes under the cruel to be kind scenario I think...
Anyone tried a colonic? Thinking about it but it looks a bit scary!!

I have been thinking of a colonic but have heard so many conflicting things about them either they are wonderfull and whole olives come out or they are a con and your body will clean it self out when you poo anyway so there is no benefit. But all the people who do them think they are fab so... should we try one? maybe we should try a new thread in diet and exercise or right here w/ whos had a colonic? and see what we get.
