Default Are you worried about the risks of Diane 35 ?

I am currently taking a 10 day perscription for Medroxyprogesterone 10MG, according to my doctor, I was supose to get a period sometime during the 10 days and then on day 1 of my period, begin taking Diane 35. Well, its day 9 and I have yet to start bleeding and not sure when to start the Diane 35.

While I've been waiting I decided to do some research on Diane 35 and was startled at what I found. I questioned why my doctor wanted to put me on a daily low dose Asprin after reading the following articles on the high risks associated with Diane 35 I now understand why. Higher risk of strokes and blood clots (4 times higher than other pills on the market today).

www.cbc.ca/consumers/market/files/health/diane/index.html
www.cbc.ca/disclosure/archives/030114_diane/main.html

I feel quite concerned. My doctor didn't really explain all the risks involved with Diane 35 and is an Asprin a day really enough to protect me ?

I guess my questions to all the ladies out there are:

Are you worred about the risks of Diane 35 ?
Did your doctor make you fully aware of the risks ?
Is this new information to people ... or just me ? LOL

I've been on an identical pill just marketed under a different name for ~8-10 years, I had been warned about clots when the issue was first brought up about 8/9 years ago after people started realising that things like long haul flights were a concern.

I hadn't really had any major concerns until recently, I was told unless an injury like a broken leg that limited mobility or a long haul flight happened that chances were very remote.

However the increasing pressure to push me off the pills had got to me and when under the misguided belief that I didn't have PCOS there was no need to prescribe it, the clinic I had been visiting for years refused to write a script - told me to go to my GP

She is completely OK with it but I had wondered if maybe there was some truth in an earlier suggestion that I'm better off on a weaker or different generation pill.

I'm out of pills, having just 1 month left I will now seek a referral to a specialist I saw when I was first Dx (diagnosed), which was about 10yrs ago.
