UGH! Yeast infections. I get one at least once a month. Sometimes i can got a few months, but not very often. The Diflucan kind of works for me, but i also have to get a cream to use. I forget the cream, it was just an anti fungal cream that is also used for jock itch, i thought it was weird she was perscribing that for me too, but it works.

The Monistat works for me only if i get the 7 day one, it just got too expensive for me to keep buying, and it is too much of a hassle having it leak out of you for several days after you are done using it...sorry TMI, they do have those ovules that you can use that are supposed to melt with your body temp, but haven't tried them yet.

Some people say using a plain yogurt tampon has worked.

IF you can get to a doctor just ask for diflucan, one pill can take it any time of the day. If not, just go buy monistat, i've never tried vagisill but i'm sure it works too

one more thing, i don't think it affects AF. I know having AF helps clean the infection out. I've had my period while having a yeast infection

This is a post I just put on another thread, but it applies to you as well.

I battled with chronic yeast and bacterial infections for years. I went to a million doctors and they could not explain it either. I saw the head of gynecology of UW as well as the head of GYN at a major hospital in my old city. I tried a billion home cures too with no luck.

Then one day I saw FemGlide in RiteAid. It's safe for diabetics (I'm not though) and is glycerin (I think that is SUGAR) free! It says it won't cause yeast infections on the bottle. It's also pap and sperm compatible. This is the only non-glycerin lube I am aware of being made.

So I switched from Astroglide (and whatever lubes condoms come with) and guess what? I haven't had an infection in a couple years now.

Changing lube was the only thing I did different. I didn't clear up overnight, but it was clear after a few weeks when no infection came, and no infection came...I couldn't believe it!!!

When we used condoms, we bought unlubricated condoms and added this lube to it. It's a nice lube..natural feeling. I highly recommend you give this a try. I hope this may help you as well.

I only start getting a mild infection now after I have gone for a GYN exam, when they touch you with the KY or whatever. When I went to the doctor all the time it obviously made me worse. Now I never have to go for an appt, because I am fine!

I have also battled with chronic yeast infections.....so many people here!!! I wonder if it could be directley related?? Did any of you (those who are on Met) notice any difference in infections after starting?

I am not in control of what I did yesterday.
Nor am I in control of what I do tommorow.
All I am in control of is right now,
And hey-
I am not stuffing my face right now, so I am doing a pretty darn good job.

FemGlide from rite aid. Thanks I will be getting some of that. I use it to insert tampons since my flow is so light now that I am age 44. I like astro glide but i have wondered if that was irritating me.
Another thing for yeast infections:
Garlic, yes fresh garlic. peel a piece and insert it vaginally. It works I swear. I do this for a few days until the symptoms stop. Dont pierce the clove. The juice can be irritating. Just remove the thin thin outer skin.
ALSO.. boric acid powder that you can find a a drugstore. Rite aid or meijers is where I have found it. Fill up some clear gel capsules from a health food store and insert two every night. THe capsule melts and the powder goes to work. THis takes longer, 2-3 weeks but it works and there is very little clear discharge and its cheaper too. I ususally run the capsules under warm water for a minute so they dissolve quicker.
