Just wondering what generally is the biggest issue:
'Female' hormones, like estrogen, progesterone, etc.
'Male' hormones, like testosterone
'Other' hormones, like aldosterone, cortisol, DHEAs, etc

-off all hormone meds since having pulmonary embolism in August 2009
-Main symptoms: weight gain (especially annoying in mid-section/abdomen), high androgens, very low progesterone, no periods unless on OC
-fortunate to have very good bp, blood sugar, cholesterol, etc., no hirsutism.
Anyone like me and have a nice variety of everything? lol.....stupid bodies.

Marit, this is a great thread! I saw it and I'm like I gotta answer that one. lol Progesterone has always been my biggest "hormone problem". When I stopped Accutane at 21, my periods stopped, I started gaining weight, and then there went most of my estrogen--in my fat cells. The estrogen is still sittin' in my fat cells...I'm waiting patiently for recent levels of my testosterone and cortisol, because a cyst on my kidney was found years ago-again, nothing done about it though...
Stupid bodies is right lol *scratches head* not sure what adolsterone is, is that DHEA?
Hmmm....I was on Accutane too!
Aldosterone is the salt and blood pressure regulating hormone, if I'm thinking straight...
Everytime a test comes back high, it's like "Well, it's high, but not high enough that I think we need to be too concerned about it". Well, after 5 of those, I'm concerned! lol
