I have been wondering if most women with pcos have the same type of measurements, it seems that a lot of ladies carry their weight on their stomachs, but i think im a different shape to what ive been reading, my waist is 20 inches smaller that my hips, most of my weight is in my hips and legs, i do have a large stomach below my belly button but my stomach above is flat, does anyone else have weight distribution like this, what type of shape are you, im a pear

Welcome, I have not heard of this. Most of my weight is my stomach. My thighs are a little big. I have not heard of that before. I am more apple shape in the middle
I've always been pear shaped but when I came off BC the symptoms of pcos kicked in and I gained 10lbs fast. My lower belly got bigger and rounder but my torso is still slim. The booty and thigh area have always caused me grief . I think I just gained some fat mass all over (despite all the diet and exercise grrrrr).
I am also a pear (or maybe an hourglass - I have big hips and a big bust, with a defined waist), although not as much of one as you are. My hips are 12 inches bigger than my waist, and my hip to waist ratio is "healthy"...I need to lose weight, but when I do, I look even more pear-shaped. I've never been an apple. I don't mind that, though.
I'm glad someone posted about this, because everything I read says the "apply" shape is typical with pcos. I always thought I was apple shaped until I actually measured myself, and found that my hips are a few inches bigger than my stomach. I am in the process of losing weight so my measurements have been changing a little. I tend to be losing more inches in my hips then anywhere else.

When I do reseach online about PCOS it talks about the apple shape, but I carry all of my weight in my hips. My stomach is a few inches smaller than my hips. I'm also more of a pear shape. My stomach is easy to loose, but I have not lost any inches on my hips.

I was wandering the same thing because i read that traditionally women with PCOS carry the weight on their stomachs...sooo hmmmm my HUUUUUGGGGEEE arse may be a result of something else?! I actually dont have a stomach compared to butt! ive always had a butt, my stomach decided to appear a lot later on. Recently i have also noticed my arms are getting bigger and not in the muscular way! ive never had much of a chest either..so im basically bigger at the bottom that i am at top..is that pear/hourglass i dont know. Im just sick of the weight coming of my chest first and my arse staying fimrly where it is!*sigh*

Hmmm I really don't know what shape I am. I have a large bust which is around the same measurement of my hips. My waist is less than 4 1/2 inches smaller than my hips and bust. Not sure what that means. lol

I'm an hourglass... my boobs were already huge, but now they are gonzo, not that my hubby is complaining. I do have a bit of a tummy, but my hubby likes my butt so I better not complain about that. In fact, I was told I couldn't lose any of my behind! LMAO!

My hips and waist measure exactly the same, even with the weightloss. When I look in the mirror I have an hourglass shape, but when I look down I see my belly sticking out like a pg belly. I suck it in as much as I can (when I think about it lol)
An apple shape is anytime your waist is close to the measurement of your hips or greater than your hip measurement.
I'm an apple. My hips are 42 and my waist is 37 so there is only 5 inches different. My bust is just a bit bigger than my hips (44") so I am pretty much straight up and down. Not healthy.
For my measurements to be healthy I would have to have my waist 33" or smaller. So I have too much bad, bad belly fat.
