Hi. I have acne, too, which comes monthly. It is pretty much under control with the OTC products I use, but still a pain to be getting zits at 31 years old.
My question is not related to PCOS, I think, but maybe someone here has some advice. Regarding my boyfriend, this is the first guy I've dated that, after a make-out session, I break out over the next couple days around my nose & mouth area. Has any one experienced this? Am I allergic to him? His spit? Something else? I can't figure it out. It never happened with other boyfriends.
Just curious. Thanks in advance.
Chel

That happened to me a few times with one guy and I narrowed it down to his beard stubblies. Seemed like his was just the right length to really irritate my skin around my mouth. What a dead give away to making out with him, I looked red and ridiculous! haha
I dont know really what fixes this situation though. Is he clean shaven or have facial hair? Maybe really cleaning the area after kissing (I know, how romantic huh?) will help the breakouts.
Having highly sensitive skin I would say thats a normal reaction just from pressure, stubble, whatever. Yes, clean with a mild anti-bacterial solution afterwards or stop making out LOL!!! Just kidding.
Thanks for your thoughts. He is clean-shaven, although sometimes I can feel his stubble. I guess it depends on the time of day in relation to when he shaved.
I have had the situation before, where you kiss someone with 5 o-clock shadow and get red (like a brushburn) around the lips. This is different. I actually break out in pimples.
I have tried washing my face with anti-bacterial soap when I get home & it hasn't helped. I still break out. I'm thinking of asking him to try a different aftershave or something. I can't imagine what is affecting me so.
I appreciate you trying to help me.

Hi there, I find that I break out after kissing as well, but I think it is more the hormones released during sex (from the kissing-lol) that must break me out. Just a theory, good luck!
