I am on now 50mg, and sinc egoing up to 50mg from 25mg I have experienced sleepiness and alot of it can I say ALL weekend I couldn't get ut of bed not a depression feeling but a TIRED feeling like I could sleep for days on end.
My friend told me not to take it at night becasue it will keep me up but can I be the opposite? My friend said wait it out til it kicks in but I am finding it hard to stay awake at work

I would definitely try taking it at night before you switch. I think that it had the same affect on my brother. He ended up switching and found one that worked better for him. Good luck, sending you a little caffeine jolt!!

Thanks first of all...

I was taking it at 25mg at night and I did ok I guess then my friend told me I should switch because I will not be able to sleep, right now I take it in the morning. I want to take it at night but hate to be kept up all night ya know. How much effect will it have if I switch bach again? Also I am getting terrible headaches everyday since startingthis drug. I guess I need to call the doctor.

When I was on Zoloft alone I'd ALWAYS be tired. My doc also perscribed Buspar -- an anti-anxiety med -- along with it. That kindof counteracted the drousy effect of the Zoloft and the two worked very well together for me for years. I haven't been on anything in quite some time, but I do remember those two meds being like a miracle for me through a very, very rough spot in my life. Hope that helps for you -- maybe ask your doc about it? Good luck!

When I'm on Zoloft, I take it at night and only found that it kept me up when my dose was too high. If I take it during the day, by mid-afternoon, I'm ready to sleep on my desk. I'd try taking it at night and giving it some time. But I do know that I'm always tired regardless of the Zoloft, so I think maybe the zoloft just made it worse.

Anyway - good luck!

Chula,
YOU have been thru so much lately with you DD and DH! I would call and talk to your doctor about your concerns. I love zoloft. It changed my life and helped me get over some big bumps.

Keep us posted on how you are doing!

Gosh I am feelin so bad today like I wanna cry alot. What is it with me lately! I can't stand this feeling. I hae been thinking of my husband and my daughter and bad thoughts come up like I wanna go away. Why does depression get to some of us so easily?

Personally, I take Zoloft whenever I remember to take it, whether morning or night. It has no effect on my sleep at all, and my dosage is 100mg. Sleepiness or insomnia could both be from the depression more than the Zoloft. I'm not saying they are, just that it's a possibility.
If you are taking it regularly and have been for some time and you're still getting those "I just want to go away" feelings, I would seriously recommend thinking about going up to 100mg. Although Zoloft will never erase every negative thought you have, those are the kinds of feelings I only have when I've forgotten to take mine for a few days.
I believe Zoloft goes up to 250mg. I had been taking 50mg for a while when my psychiatrist told me it was a "baby dose" and she was basically testing to see if it was enough. Going up to 100mg may seem like a lot, but in comparison to the maximum, it's actually not much.
I just think you should consider it. You don't want these feelings to be affecting your relationship with your husband and daughter. The time you spend with them is too meaningful and priceless.

I'm so in love with Zoloft! When I first started taking it I had one heck of a time with headaches and sleepiness. When I got upped to 50mg the headaches were insane! when they upped me to 100mg though the headaches and sleepiness went away! I'm at 150mg right now and think I'll be staying at that dose. It's changed my life so so much!

Simona that is exactly what I am experiencing!! I was coming on here to ask that question. I couldn't even get out of bed all weekend again. I mean it's that don't bother me feeling I coudn't do anything but lay around. I hope it changes I had expectations about this Zoloft. My appetite has changed I am not so hungry to eat like before is that normal? It's great but I want to make sure ya know.

I love zoloft! It literally saved my marriage. My DH and I were married for about six months and we started fighting all the time, I accused him of things that I knew weren't true, but I was so unhappy that I couldn't see past my own depression. So, we went to see a marriage counselor, and he suggested that I ask my doc for an anti-depressant. So, that night I called my mother (she's also my very best friend in the world) what she takes, and she told me to ask for Zoloft. She also told me that I should take it at night because with her, my uncle and my grandmother, it made them sleepy all day, but they were fine if they took it at night. The next day I went to the doc, and I haven't regretted it! A couple of weeks ago, I forgot to take it two nights in a row, and that third day, I could feel the difference in me. I was back to being megawitch with a capital B. I hate that out of control feeling I had before my zoloft. I'm so glad I have it now, because I really believe my husband and I would not have made it to our first anniversary! LOL
