Question Zoloft anyone?

I asked my endo. yesterday for something to lift my moods a little and he prescribed me Zoloft. I don't remember if I've every taken this med. before or not. I was just wondering if anyone else is taking this med. and what they think of it. I noticed in the reading that came with my sample that it also helps with panic disorders and OCD. Maybe that will help me with spending so much money, I seem to have something going on where I'm wanting to always be shopping, heck maybe its just boredom.

Thanks

I am on it and I like it. I went off of it because I thought it was making me have less bm but I don't think that is the case. My husband started to ask me what was wrong with me so I started to take it again. I call it my *happy pill* .

My friend swears by this pill. She was having awful depression and anxiety and the dr. gave her Zoloft and she loves it. She stopped taking it when she got pregnant but is on her way to start taking it again. She loves it.

Default I hope it works

i sure hope it is a happy pill for me. Not being able to lose any weight and not having the energy to do something to lose it is depressing me.

I had these big plans just like last ,when spring came around I would get out and walk with the kids in the jogging stroller and get skinny again. Another year and another plan shot in the you know what. I'm so tired all the time ,I get so worn out from doing the house work and taking care of my kids.

I was hoping the synthroid would have helped me lose weight but, no ,hopefully it 's keeping me from getting bigger.

Crossing fingers that zoloft will be what I need to perk me up.

You know, if you're looking for zoloft to lose weight then you might be disappointed. My friend didn't lose any weight on it and actually probably gained a good 10lbs on it.

If you're still feeling sluggish after you take your synthroid you might want to check into your T3. Your thyroid might not be converting the T4 in syntroid to T3. And there are meds out there that have T3 in them or you can take something like Armour that has T4 and T3.

But, if you're actually just really depressed and having anxiety attacks and that's what's holding you back, then Zoloft is a good choice.

Have you started taking it yet? If so, how do you like it?

Hi, I tryed the zoloft and Good did it ever make me sick. I had acid reflux so bad I thought I was dying . The stuff made me dizzy and spacey. I think the big reason why I think I'm depressed is that I'm so tired all the time.
My endo. took me off Tricor for trygricl. because he thought it might me causing me to have muscle weakness.Since stopping the Tricor and stopping the Zoloft I do feel like I have more energy.

How'd your trip go ?Or did you go yet?Hope you have a good time.

I just posted my recent labs on my TSH and T4 and T3's and hoping SHenacat or somebody will take a look at them.

I noticed that my Total T$ is higher since being on the syntroid then it usually is ,I don't know if that means anything or not. ?

Default Zoloft

I took Zoloft for a couple of years because I had raging panic attacks - I did lose weight on it, but I think that's because I eat when I'm stressed & the Zoloft helped ease that. I went off the stuff last year though, because I was so very tired all the time. Of course, off it I'm still tired all the time. . .

Hi Babycakes17

I take Zoloft for depression and find that it helps me a lot. I too was indulging in the "retail therapy" and since Zoloft I don't need to do this anymore. I felt revolting on it to start with and it also had to be adjusted a couple of times but now I'm fine with it. At least, until I started taking Metformin...

I take Zoloft 200mg, Metformin 1500mg daily as well as a prenatal vitamin. When I need it for joint problems I am also taking Panadeine Forte!!!

Does anyone else feel like a walking medicine cabinet???

There is a new anti-depressant out called Cymbalta (duloxetine). I personally only know of one person on it but I have been told that it reduces or suppresses your appetite. The person I know has really stopped eating so much and has lot some weight. I am not sure if it helps with panic attacks or anxiety though. Anybody interested may ask there doctor about it.

Zoloft is used alot where I work and it does seem to work. Another antidepressant that is suppost to suppress cravings such as eating or smoking is wellbutrin(zyban) not sure if it is true or not.
