Default Zoloft & Sweating

I have been on Zoloft for just about a month. I was weaned onto it with the usual initial side effects like headaches and diareah during the first week. The headaches are now gone and the diarreah is bareable. But now, I have been sweating like crazy on my head if I exert any physical activity and cannot have an O during sex (uggh) when prior I have been easily orgasmic (SMILE). I have been taking the drug at 9:00 p.m. each night. My PCP prescribed it for me for depression and being high-strung/anxious and not being able to focus or deal with stress. My reproductive endocrinologist suggested I switch to Wellbutrin to avoid the sexual side effects, but this sweating thing is really starting to get to me. I mean, I sweat so much that my hair is literally soaked in the back and above my ears!! I have performed a search and read some of you having night sweats, etc., but does anyone have any new thoughts, advice or tips??? I see my PCP on June 10th and will address this with him for sure.

I take Wellbutrin and have had NO problems. In the beginning I think it made me have a little bit more anxiety - but other than that I've had no symptoms - so I recommend trying Wellbutrin or something else - cause I don't think you should be feeling that way.

Zoloft can definitley make you sweaty!! It can also cause orgasm problems. A switch to Wellbutrin may help. I have also heard that Wellbutrin can reduce your cravings for carbs. I would love that side effect!!
Good luck to you!

I had a terrible problem with sweating when I was on Zoloft. I switched to Wellbutrin SR and the problem went away. I am now off all anti-depressants but can remember having to deal with the annoying side effects. Good luck cyster and hang in there!

P.S.- Hey Brenda- still seeing Dr. D?

Seems like sometimes there are more negatives than positives with anti-d's. You also could have hormonal imbalance or even be hyperthyroid. I would definitely mention it to the Dr. Hope the welbutrin helps. Take it early in the morning, though because it can cause insomnia. Also, can give you some energy which I liked Hope it works well for you, Lendi

Thumbs up

I was on Paxil a few years ago and along with the same sexual side effects that your having plus alot of other ones, I had that sweating thing going on to. I remember when I was mowing the lawn that I would take a small towel out with me because my head would sweat so bad that the water would run right into my eyes. So I guess thats just another annoying little side effect. But I guess it was worth it to get my peace of mind back.
Best of luck to you all. Rainy
