Question Zovia

After problems with mass breakthru bleeding on Lo-Estrin, my doc switched me to Zovia two months ago. I'm still having some BTB, not as much, but what I'm finding is that I'm so tired I can barely hold my eyes open during the day.

I know I have thyroid problems - can't take meds for that because they make me even more tired for whatever reason

Zovia is like the 7th or 8th pill I've been on - they all seem to make me very moody and I end up having BTB after a few months on them.

Anyone else taking this and what are/were your experiences with it?

I have been on Demulen (Zovia) for years. It was the third medicine I tried. I have used it with Levothroid, a thyroid medication, and have wonderful results. Regular periods and less fatigue. You'll always be fatigued with PCOD/PCOS, it's just how much. I think I need an adjustment of medication; however, because I diet and exercise and have stopped losing weight.

Itsthatblonde,

How long did it take for the breakthrough bleeding to occur on Loestrin? On the advice of my gyn, I started it about 9 days ago. She told me to take two packs back to back to get through my vacation without a period. I was on cycle day 6 when I started. So far, no bleeding, and yesterday would've been O-day had I not been on BCP.

Was your bleeding really heavy? Did you have cramps with it? I'm trying to plan for what supplies I should take on vacation in 2 weeks just to be prepared.

Josie, I was on Lo-Estrin for almost 9 months of regular, normal cycles before I started having the BTB. When I did start having it, I experienced light cramping and light bleeding during some of the second and almost all of the third week of the pills. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the advice, Elegant.
